Working under performance artist Marta Jovanovik at Rome University of Fine Arts, I had the oppurtunity to curate the performance of Italian artist Federica Chiarucci. She and I worked for several weeks to refine, plan, and execute her 2023 durational performance art piece, Foreign Body, in which she explores a bodily relationship (and dissconnect) with the Earth. Our small team, composed of Federica, our producer Ángela Sánchez-Ruiz, filmmaker Stefano Pio, and myself, traveled to Federica's hometown of Aprilia on the outskirts of Rome for the 8 hour performance.
