Monotype Prints

Monotype prints are made by applying ink or paint to a flat sheet of material, often plastic, and then making reductive marks to create a unique matrix that can only be printed in an edition of one. The faded remaining ink after being printed can be printed again to create a "ghost" print. Generally monotypes result in a more organic painterly effect than other kinds of printmaking.
