Woodblock Prints

Woodblock (or woodcut) printmaking, formally called xylography, is a traditional form of relief printmaking made by carving or engraving a piece of wood before inking and printing it. It is an ancient form of printmaking with distinct traditions around the world. The prints in this selection were made using a variety of wood types including solid wood, plywood, and fiberboard.
